LAGOS APC NAMES FORMER GOVERNORS, LEADERS IN 2027 CAMPAIGN TEAM
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has unveiled members of its campaign structure for the 2027 general elections, with former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode among prominent figures included in the team.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is also listed as part of the campaign structure alongside other senior party leaders and stakeholders. The inclusion of former governors places past and present leaders of the state within the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.
Fashola, who governed Lagos between 2007 and 2015, was listed among the stakeholders expected to contribute to the party’s campaign activities. Ambode, who served as governor from 2015 to 2019, was also named in the structure despite his relatively limited public involvement in Lagos APC activities in recent years.
Other notable names included in the campaign arrangement are former deputy governor Femi Pedro, Senator Ganiyu Solomon and other party leaders drawn from different levels of the APC in Lagos. The structure also makes provisions for mobilisation, media, youth, women, grassroots engagement and other campaign-related activities.
The development comes as political parties begin preparations for the 2027 elections. The APC has already established campaign structures at the national level, while its Lagos chapter continues to organise its members and stakeholders ahead of the election season.
