LAGOS APC BRINGS NOLLYWOOD AND FUJI STARS INTO 2027 CAMPAIGN TEAM

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has named several prominent figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry to its campaign council ahead of the 2027 elections. The names are contained in the campaign council list released by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre on Thursday, with the council scheduled to be inaugurated on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko, actresses Eniola Badmus, Toyin Abraham and Bimbo Akintola are among the personalities listed under the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate. Toke Benson-Awoyinka is named as the Director of the directorate, while Kosoko will serve as Co-Director and Badmus as Deputy Director. Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, is listed as Secretary, while Dare Olateju will serve as Assistant Secretary.

Other members drawn from the Yoruba film industry include veteran actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, as well as Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola. Their names feature alongside other members of the directorate as the Lagos APC establishes its entertainment and creative sector structure ahead of the 2027 election campaign.

The Fuji music industry also has several representatives on the list. Those named include Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, popularly known as Malaika, Akorede Babatunde Okunola, known as Osupa, and Temitope Adekunle, popularly known as Small Doctor.

The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate is one of several structures under the Lagos APC campaign council. The wider council lists Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Chairman and Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Deputy Chairman. The full campaign structure is expected to be inaugurated on Friday as the party formally begins organising its various directorates ahead of the 2027 Lagos election cycle.
