KWARA STATE POLICE COMMAND PARADES MULTIPLE SUSPECTS APPREHENDED ACROSS CHILD ABUSE, HOMICIDE, AND KIDNAPPING OPERATIONS

Timely community intelligence, routine tactical patrols, and joint security raids lead to major crackdown on grave exhumations, child torture, and inter-state criminal syndicates in Kwara State

The Kwara State Police Command has paraded multiple criminal suspects apprehended in connection with severe offenses ranging from child abuse and torture to grave exhumation, murder, and inter-state kidnapping syndicates.

Disclosing details of the enforcement operations at a press briefing in Ilorin, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, revealed that a major child abuse case in the Adewole area was exposed after a vigilant resident grew suspicious of a 12-year-old girl buying medical solutions late at night. Subsequent police intervention led to the arrest of the victim's biological father, stepfather, and a neighbor for alleged domestic torture and severe child cruelty.

In separate anti-kidnapping operations, police personnel collaborating with local vigilante groups intercepted suspects along the Bani axis and recovered stolen operational motorcycles. Additionally, routine tactical patrols along the Afon axis led to the arrest of Musa Hussein, a key suspect linked to cross-border kidnapping operations targeting residents in the neighboring Orile Igbon area of Oyo State.

The command also detailed the arrest of suspects caught exhuming graves in the Omupo community of Kwara South for suspected money-making rituals, alongside suspects found in possession of human remains.

Reassuring Kwara State residents of sustained security measures, Commissioner Ojo stated that all apprehended suspects remain in police custody undergoing thorough investigation by the Violent Crimes Response Unit and will be formally arraigned in court upon conclusion of inquiries.
