KWARA POLICE CHIEF LAUNCHES TOUR OF FORMATIONS, PROMISES STRONGER SECURITY

The newly deployed Commissioner of Police in Kwara State has commenced an inspection tour of police formations and operational units across the state as part of efforts to assess their readiness and strengthen security operations.

The inspection is aimed at familiarising the police leadership with the various formations under the command while allowing the commissioner to directly assess the condition of personnel, facilities, equipment and other operational requirements.

During the visits, the police commissioner is expected to interact with officers and personnel at the various formations, listen to their challenges and identify areas requiring urgent attention.

The exercise also provides an opportunity for the command to review its security strategies and ensure that officers remain prepared to respond effectively to criminal activities and other threats across the state.

The commissioner emphasised the importance of professionalism, discipline and commitment among police personnel, urging officers to remain dedicated to their responsibilities and uphold the rights of members of the public in the discharge of their duties.

He also stressed the need for stronger collaboration between the police and communities, noting that residents have an important role to play by providing useful information that can assist security agencies in preventing and responding to crime.

The inspection comes as security agencies continue efforts to address various security challenges across Kwara State, including kidnapping, robbery, cult-related activities and other forms of criminality.

The police leadership is expected to use findings from the inspection to improve operational effectiveness and address identified gaps across the formations.

The command also reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property while maintaining peace and security throughout the state.
