The Kwara State Government has directed the immediate repair of damaged sections of the Children’s Specialist Hospital in Centre Igboro after a recent rainstorm caused significant destruction.

The directive followed an on-site assessment by the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board, led by its Executive Secretary, Abdulraheem Malik, who inspected the extent of the damage.

According to the board, the intervention was approved by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to ensure the hospital quickly returns to full operation, given its importance in providing healthcare services to mothers and children.

Officials confirmed that repair work has already begun, targeting affected areas such as the Emergency Paediatric Unit, hospital wards, and sections where roofing and windows were damaged.

The government reassured patients, parents, and caregivers that medical services at the facility would continue without disruption despite the ongoing repairs.

Authorities also emphasised their commitment to maintaining safe and conducive healthcare environments, adding that the swift response reflects the state’s broader effort to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and service delivery.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
