Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has held an emergency meeting with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) following Tuesday’s deadly attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) congregation in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area.

The meeting, held at Ahmadu Bello House in Ilorin, brought together top Christian leaders for a briefing on government actions since the incident.

During the session, Governor AbdulRazaq expressed deep sympathy to the Christian community and the families affected by the attack. He confirmed that Nigerian military personnel have now taken full control of the Eruku community to prevent further violence.

The governor assured CAN that his administration is working closely with federal authorities to restore peace, adding that both the state government and security agencies are committed to preventing similar attacks.

He also emphasized that the government will continue to support security formations with logistics, equipment, and intelligence resources. Residents of Eruku and surrounding areas were urged to remain calm and cooperate fully with operatives deployed to maintain order.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
