KOGI SCHOOLS TO REOPEN MONDAY AMID HEIGHTENED SECURITY MEASURES
The Kogi State Government has announced that schools across the state, previously closed due to security concerns, will reopen on Monday, February 23, 2026.
The State Ministry of Education made the announcement on Friday in Lokoja, the state capital.
Earlier, on February 3, the government ordered the indefinite closure of public and private schools across Kogi State as a precautionary measure against insecurity.
In a statement signed by the ministry’s Director of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Matthew Salami, school authorities and the general public were informed of the resumption date.
Salami emphasized that all school activities would resume as normal, with both day and boarding students expected back on the specified date.
“The announcement applies to all schools in the state. The ministry appreciates the cooperation of students, parents, and staff during the break. Further updates will be communicated as necessary,” he added.
