KOGI GOV GIVES 1,490 CORPS MEMBERS ₦20,000 EACH

Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has given ₦20,000 each to 1,490 National Youth Service Corps members serving in the state.

The gesture was announced as part of the state government’s efforts to support corps members during their service year and recognise their contributions to communities across Kogi State.

The beneficiaries are among corps members deployed to different parts of the state to carry out their primary assignments and participate in community development activities.

The financial support is expected to provide some relief for the young graduates as they undertake their national service.

The governor’s gesture also highlights the role of state governments in supporting NYSC members, particularly those serving in areas where transportation and other daily expenses can be challenging.

The corps members have continued to contribute to education, healthcare, agriculture, community development and other sectors through their various places of primary assignment.

The state government said supporting young Nigerians during their service year remains important, given the role of the NYSC programme in promoting national integration and community development.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the assistance, describing it as timely support during their service year.

The gesture is expected to strengthen the relationship between the Kogi State Government and corps members while encouraging the young graduates to remain committed to their duties throughout their period of service.
