KIDNAP VICTIM ESCAPES CAPTORS IN ONDO, TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED

A 55-year-old man abducted in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State has regained his freedom after reportedly escaping from his captors while they slept. His escape subsequently helped security operatives arrest two suspected members of the kidnapping gang.

The victim, identified as Idowu Alade, was reportedly abducted on August 21, 2026, at Aroge Camp, via Idoani. He had left his residence at about 6pm to purchase a network recharge card but failed to return home, prompting members of the community to begin searching for him the following morning.

The incident was later reported at the Idoani Police Division as efforts intensified to locate the missing man. Alade eventually managed to escape from the kidnappers’ hideout, providing security authorities with information that assisted in the arrest of two suspected members of the criminal group.

The development highlights the security challenges facing communities in parts of Ondo State, particularly in areas where criminal groups take advantage of isolated locations to carry out abductions. The rescue also demonstrates the importance of community vigilance and prompt reporting of suspected kidnapping incidents.
