KEFAS EXPLAINS TARABA APC DEFECTION

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has explained his decision to join the All Progressives Congress, saying the move was influenced by his desire to promote development and unity in the state.

Kefas said his decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party was based on what he described as the need to work more closely with the Federal Government and create better opportunities for the people of Taraba.

The governor also spoke about his advocacy for a “United State of Taraba,” saying the idea was aimed at promoting unity, cooperation and a shared sense of purpose among residents.

According to Kefas, political differences should not prevent leaders from working together to address the needs of citizens.

He said his administration remained focused on development and improving the welfare of residents across the state, regardless of political affiliation.

The governor maintained that joining the APC would provide an opportunity to strengthen collaboration with the Federal Government and attract more support for development projects in Taraba.

Kefas urged residents to remain united and support efforts aimed at improving the state.

His defection has generated political interest in Taraba as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum.

The governor said his political decisions were guided by the interests of Taraba and his commitment to building a more united and prosperous state.
