Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has shared why she prefers to keep her marriage and family life away from the public eye.

Speaking on the Dear Ife series with Ifedayo Agoro, Ruth revealed that choosing privacy has been one of her wisest decisions so far. According to her, it’s helped her stay grounded and allowed her to nurture her relationship without outside interference.

“I think it was the best decision I ever made because it has helped me stay grounded. It has helped me define my relationship. I don’t have external factors deciding how I deal or relate with my spouse,” she explained.

Ruth noted that while many assume she’s hiding her husband, that’s far from the truth. “My husband is not a secret. My life is not as private as people think. People who know me know him. That’s enough. I’m not hiding my husband,” she said.

She pointed out that they attend church together and go to events side by side. In fact, pictures of her husband sometimes appear online through event coverage. However, he personally prefers to stay away from the spotlight, even keeping his social media focused on sharing the word of God rather than personal images.

Ruth also touched on the unique pressures that come with being a celebrity in a marriage. “Marital pressures as celebrities is also something we don’t talk about a lot,” she said. Seeing that her career continues to thrive, she feels especially grateful to have a private part of her life that she can fully protect and control.

For Ruth, it’s all about balance — enjoying her public success while safeguarding the sanctity of her home.
