State Executive Council highlights scorecards in rural connectivity, urban renewal, and transportation reforms under Governor Nasir Idris's administration

The Kebbi State Government has completed 25 major infrastructure projects while awarding contracts for 19 new road networks across urban centers and rural communities to enhance regional connectivity and boost local commerce.

Announcing the milestone during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi, the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure detailed that the completed projects include the dualization of the key Birnin Kebbi–Ambursa Road, the rehabilitation of major township roads, the construction of a modern central motor park, and the delivery of the ultra-modern State Secretariat Complex.

The administration noted that the 19 newly awarded road projects are strategically distributed across several local government areas to facilitate the seamless movement of agricultural produce, reduce rural-urban transit costs, and stimulate economic activity. Governor Nasir Idris reiterated that infrastructure expansion remains a cornerstone of his administration's developmental agenda, committing to strict oversight to ensure all contractors adhere to quality specifications and delivery timelines.

State authorities also highlighted complementary transport sector reforms, including the establishment of the Kebbi State Transportation Authority (KSTA) and the resumption of regular commercial flights at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, as key drivers strengthening economic growth across the state.
