Major stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Kebbi State have expressed support for Governor Nasir Idris to seek a second term in office, citing what they described as the achievements of his administration.

The latest endorsement was made by the Managing Director of the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission and APC stakeholder in the state, Abubakar Yelwa, during an engagement with the Kebbi State Governor’s Media Team in Abuja.

Yelwa said his support for the governor’s re-election was based on the development recorded across various sectors of the state during the first two years of the administration.

He said residents from different communities had continued to acknowledge what he described as improvements in the socio-economic fortunes of Kebbi State.

The APC stakeholder urged the people of Kebbi to support the governor’s administration and allow it to consolidate ongoing development projects.

The endorsement comes after Kebbi APC delegates from all 225 wards across the state unanimously affirmed Idris as the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election in May.

Party leaders said the earlier affirmation reflected the confidence of APC members in the governor’s leadership and performance.

Idris, in accepting the party’s endorsement, pledged to intensify development efforts across the state and build on projects already initiated by his administration.

The latest backing further strengthens the governor’s position within the APC as preparations for the 2027 governorship election continue.

However, the endorsement is a political position of the stakeholders and does not determine the outcome of the 2027 election, which will ultimately be decided by voters.
