The All Progressives Congress in Kebbi State has called for a full and impartial investigation into recent violence and destruction of property in parts of Jega Local Government Area.

The party’s Publicity Secretary, Isah Assalafi, made the call during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi, urging security agencies to establish the facts surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.

Assalafi condemned violence, destruction of property and intimidation, saying political differences should not be allowed to escalate into confrontation.

He also called on authorities to ensure that anyone found responsible faces prosecution according to the law, stressing that the investigation should be transparent and based on evidence rather than political affiliation or public pressure.

The APC spokesman sympathised with residents affected by the incident and urged the relevant authorities to provide assistance and protection where necessary.

He appealed to political parties, their supporters and other stakeholders to avoid inflammatory statements, misinformation and actions capable of increasing tension in Jega and other parts of Kebbi State.

Assalafi also urged political leaders to take responsibility for the conduct of their supporters and commit themselves to peaceful democratic engagement.

He commended security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders and residents for helping to restore calm, while urging stakeholders to work together to prevent a recurrence of the violence.
