KC LUXURY, TWO OTHERS REMANDED OVER ALLEGED DRUG TRAFFICKING
The Federal High Court in Lagos has remanded luxury goods dealer and social media personality Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, alongside two other defendants over alleged cocaine trafficking and money laundering.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency arraigned the three defendants on a 22-count charge involving the alleged trafficking and attempted export of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine valued at about ₦39bn.
The other defendants are Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecution alleged that the defendants conspired with two other suspects who were arrested in the United Kingdom in connection with the case. The agency also accused Michael of involvement in the alleged movement of funds and acquisition of assets linked to the suspected proceeds.
The prosecution opposed the defendants’ bail applications and asked the court to keep them in custody pending trial.
The court subsequently ordered that the three defendants be remanded in an NDLEA facility. The case was adjourned to October 4, 2026, for a ruling on the bail applications.
The defendants remain presumed innocent unless proven guilty by the court.
