KC LUXURY ARRIVES COURT IN AMBULANCE, SEEKS MEDICAL BAIL
Businessman and social media influencer Afolabi Michael Kazeem, popularly known as KC Luxury, arrived at the Federal High Court in Lagos in an ambulance on Friday as his lawyer requested bail on medical grounds.
Kazeem remained inside the ambulance receiving oxygen and could not enter the courtroom.
A correctional officer informed Justice Musa Kakaki that the defendant was critically ill and had been hospitalised.
Bukki Yahya, a nurse from the Police Hospital in Falomo, told the court that Kazeem was admitted on October 7, 2026, and diagnosed with asthma and sepsis.
She explained that moving him into the courtroom was not possible because he required oxygen.
Following her account, Justice Kakaki directed that Kazeem be returned to the hospital.
His lawyer, Emefo Etudo, then proceeded with a bail application seeking his release to obtain specialised treatment at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
Etudo argued that his client’s condition had deteriorated. He told the court that the Police Hospital had disclosed a lung collapse and referred Kazeem to LUTH because it lacked the facilities needed for surgery.
The lawyer said supporting affidavits, exhibits and a written address had been filed, alongside a reply to the prosecution’s counter-affidavit.
Kazeem is standing trial with Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch over alleged trafficking involving 184.5 kilograms of cocaine and money laundering.
The charges remain allegations. The account provided did not include a ruling on the medical bail application.
