KATSINA GOV HAILS TINUBU OVER POWER SUBSTATION UPGRADE
Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has praised President Bola Tinubu for approving the expansion of the electricity substation in Kankia Local Government Area.
Speaking at the commissioning of the upgraded facility on Friday, Radda said the project would strengthen electricity infrastructure and improve power supply to residents.
He described the expansion as an important Federal Government intervention aimed at delivering practical benefits to communities.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Katsina State, I wish to express our profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the expansion of this substation to improve electricity supply for our people,” he said.
The governor urged Kankia residents to protect the facility, stressing that safeguarding public infrastructure was necessary to keep it functioning.
Radda also asked the Minister of Power to convey the state’s appreciation to the President for supporting the project.
He explained that the commissioning followed a groundbreaking ceremony for another project in Mashi Local Government Area earlier in the day.
The governor further said the railway project linking Kano, Daura, Katsina and Maradi was nearing completion. He described it as another major infrastructure investment expected to benefit the state.
The upgraded Kankia substation adds to ongoing efforts to strengthen the electricity network serving Katsina communities.
