The Kano State Government has unveiled plans to construct toll gates at seven strategic locations as part of efforts to enhance security across the state.

The initiative was announced by the Commissioner for Housing Development, Ibrahim Adamu, in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Adamu Abdullahi, on Monday.

Adamu made the disclosure during the official handover of the seven sites for construction on Saturday. The designated locations include Daura Road, Katsina Road, Gwarzo Road, Zaria Road, Maiduguri Road, Hadejia Road, and Sa’adatu Rimi.

He highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s security infrastructure and improving socio-economic conditions through effective monitoring of vehicular movement.

The commissioner urged contractors to ensure timely completion of the project in line with contractual agreements.

The handover ceremony, which took place across the seven project sites, was attended by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Marwan Ahmed, and the Commissioner for Public Procurement, Dr. Nura Ma’aji.

During the event, contractors, representatives from the Ministry of Housing Development, and the project consultant signed the handover notes, formalising the commencement of the project.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
