The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man suspected of involvement in kidnapping, armed robbery and cattle rustling across Kano, Katsina and Kaduna states.

The suspect, identified as Habibu Bello from Kunkumi Town in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was arrested on September 14 by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad following intelligence received by the command. Police said the investigation also led to the arrest of another suspected member of the alleged syndicate, identified as Mudam from Kwanar Dangora.

According to the police, Bello was allegedly linked to several kidnapping incidents, including the abduction of a woman in Kwanar Dangora for which a N20m ransom was reportedly paid. He was also allegedly involved in kidnapping and cattle-rustling activities in the three states.

In a separate operation, police recovered a cine-camera drone marked GT 50 at Hawan Tarau Village in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State on September 17. The drone was found on the ground during a clearance operation, and the command said efforts were ongoing to establish its source and owner.

The police said investigations were continuing to identify other members of the alleged syndicate and sustain security operations across the affected areas.
