KANO POLICE ARREST 10, RECOVER STOLEN MOTORCYCLES
The Kano State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects linked to stolen motorcycles and successfully recovered seven bikes, which have now been returned to their rightful owners.
Police spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the arrests in a statement on Thursday, noting that the breakthrough came after the capture of a notorious motorcycle thief, Dahiru Jibrin, on August 11, 2025.
Following his arrest, investigations by the Anti-Cyber Crime Unit of the CID led to the dismantling of a wider criminal network involved in receiving stolen motorcycles.
“The recovered motorcycles have been handed over to their rightful owners as part of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property,” SP Kiyawa stated.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the officers for their efforts and urged residents to continue supporting the police with timely and useful information.
He assured that the Command remains determined to clamp down on criminal activities and safeguard the lives and property of Kano residents.
