KANO MAN ALLEGEDLY KILLS WIFE FOR REFUSING TO MAKE KULI-KULI
A Kano State High Court sitting on Miller Road has ordered the remand of a man, identified as Idris Kurma, in a correctional facility for allegedly killing his wife after she declined to prepare kuli-kuli (groundnut cake) for him.
The case, presided over by Justice Musa Dahiru, involved a charge of culpable homicide contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code, as presented by the prosecuting counsel, Barrister Lamido Abba Soron Dinki. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
During the proceedings, Barrister Lamido requested time for the prosecution to present its witnesses, while the defence counsel, Barrister Ibrahim Adakawa, asked for complete details of the case.
Justice Dahiru granted both requests and adjourned the case until December 12, 2025.
Reports indicate that the defendant, a resident of Goda in Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State, allegedly strangled his wife, Aisha Idris, after she refused to prepare kuli-kuli, which resulted in her death.
