KANO FIRE SERVICE SAVES 3 LIVES, N1BN PROPERTY IN JUNE
The Kano State Fire Service has revealed that it saved three lives and property worth over N1 billion from a total of 40 fire incidents across the state in the month of June.
This was made known on Monday by the Public Relations Officer of the service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, in a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Unfortunately, the service also reported the loss of three lives and destruction of property estimated at N568 million during the same period.
According to Abdullahi, fire personnel responded to seven emergency calls and dealt with five false alarms in June alone.
He used the opportunity to urge residents to be safety-conscious, especially when it comes to buildings with visible cracks.
“People should vacate and avoid staying in buildings with structural cracks to prevent building collapse and avoid unnecessary loss of lives,” he warned.
The report highlights both the dedication of the state’s emergency responders and the need for greater public awareness around fire safety and structural hazards.
