KANE EDGES OUT YAMAL TO WIN AWARD 3 DAYS AHEAD OF BALLON D’OR CEREMONY
Harry Kane has finished ahead of Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal to win the Marca 100 award for the best player of the 2025/26 season.
The Bayern Munich striker collected 3,962 points, narrowly beating Yamal’s 3,937—a difference of just 25 points.
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé finished third with 3,440 points.
The ranking was decided by a 226-member panel of journalists, former players and coaches, assessing performances across the season.
Rodri placed fourth, followed by Paris Saint-Germain’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in fifth. Lionel Messi, Fabian Ruiz, Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembélé and Pau Cubarsí completed the top 10.
Kane’s recognition comes three days before the Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday, October 26, where he is also among the leading contenders.
However, the Marca award is a separate honour, with its own voting panel. Its outcome does not determine who will receive the Ballon d’Or.
The result gives Kane another individual accolade while highlighting how closely he and Yamal were ranked by the participating voters.
