Tragedy struck in the Kabala Costain area of Kaduna when an 18-year-old girl, Faiza Abdullahi, was arrested following the sudden death of a woman, Hajara Bashir, during a heated altercation.

According to a report shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X (formerly Twitter), the incident happened on Friday night and involved Faiza and a 13-year-old boy, Khalifa Abubakar Bashir, who is believed to be the son of the deceased.

During the dispute, Hajara Bashir reportedly stepped in to calm the situation, but things quickly escalated. Faiza allegedly grabbed her by the neck, causing Hajara to collapse. She was immediately rushed to a nearby clinic, where she was sadly confirmed dead at 10:14 p.m.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after and arrested Faiza. She is now in custody as investigations continue into what exactly led to the fatal encounter.

The deceased's body was released to her family for burial in line with Islamic rites, after the family declined a post-mortem examination.

This heartbreaking incident has left the community in shock and raised fresh concerns about youth violence and rising domestic tensions. Police have assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to uncover the full truth.

Residents are calling for calm and urging families to find peaceful ways to resolve disputes, especially when young people are involved.
