A Kaduna resident has been arraigned before a court for allegedly stealing an iPhone belonging to his girlfriend.

According to reports, the accused was brought before the court after he was accused of taking the mobile device without the owner's consent. The incident reportedly occurred during a disagreement between the couple, leading the girlfriend to file a complaint with authorities.

Prosecutors told the court that investigations revealed the suspect had unlawfully taken possession of the phone. The alleged offence is said to be contrary to the law and carries legal consequences if proven.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The court granted him bail under specified conditions and adjourned the case to a later date for further hearing.
