KADUNA EMERGES THIRD BEST PERFORMING STATE IN NIGERIA
The Kaduna State Government has announced that the state was ranked as the third-best performing state in Nigeria in the 2025 Phillips Consulting State Performance Index, earning an Excellent Four-Star Rating.
The government described the ranking as an independent validation of the reform agenda and development programmes being implemented under Governor Uba Sani’s administration.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, said the ranking reflected progress recorded in governance, fiscal management, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, security, and social inclusion.
According to the statement, the assessment was based on objective performance indicators and feedback from citizens.
Maiyaki stated that the recognition confirmed Kaduna State’s steady progress in strengthening institutions, improving governance outcomes, and expanding opportunities for residents.
He added that the ranking was one of several recent independent assessments recognising improvements in governance and accountability in the state.
The commissioner recalled that Kaduna recently emerged as the top-ranked state in the country on the 2025 Transparency and Integrity Index published by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity and also recorded the highest score nationwide on the Control of Corruption Indicator.
Maiyaki said the recognitions demonstrated the impact of reforms and investments carried out across critical sectors under the current administration.
He explained that while the government was encouraged by the rankings, its main focus remained improving the lives of citizens through inclusive development, economic empowerment, quality service delivery, and sustainable peace.
The commissioner reaffirmed Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous, transparent, and globally competitive Kaduna State through sustained reforms and people-oriented policies.
The state government also appreciated citizens, development partners, traditional and religious institutions, civil society groups, and other stakeholders for supporting the state’s development efforts.
Since assuming office in May 2023, Governor Uba Sani’s administration has pursued reforms focused on fiscal discipline, infrastructure development, healthcare expansion, educational improvement, agricultural growth, and improved security.
According to the government, the reforms are aimed at promoting inclusive growth, reducing poverty, and restoring public confidence in government institutions.
