KADUNA ADC DENIES COALITION WITH EL-RUFAI’S SDP AHEAD OF LG BYE-ELECTIONS
As Kaduna State prepares for its local government bye-elections, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has firmly dismissed claims of a coalition with former governor Nasir El-Rufai or the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Elections are scheduled to hold in Kajuru/Chikun Federal Constituency, Zaria, and Sabon Gari Constituency, with political alignments and rumors already shaping the atmosphere.
Recently, El-Rufai, a prominent figure in the opposition coalition that nationally adopted the ADC, was warmly received by SDP supporters during a visit to Kaduna. This sparked speculation about a possible local alliance between the ADC and SDP.
However, the Kaduna ADC Chairman, Ahmad Tijjani Mustapha, cleared the air, stressing that such assumptions were misleading.
“The ADC in Kaduna State is not in any coalition or alliance with the SDP or any other political party in the state. There is no written or verbal agreement to that effect,” Mustapha stated.
He further emphasized that El-Rufai is neither a member nor an official of the ADC, and any attempt to link him with the party in Kaduna was simply aimed at confusing the public.
With the bye-elections around the corner, the ADC insists it is going into the contest independently, without aligning with any party in the state.
