JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE REVEALS BATTLE WITH LYME DISEASE, SAYS IT’S BEEN “DRAINING AND DIFFICULT”
Justin Timberlake Opens Up About Struggle With Lyme Disease After Tour
Popular American singer Justin Timberlake has revealed that he is battling Lyme disease, a serious illness that he says has deeply affected both his physical and mental health.
The 44-year-old music star, known for hits like Cry Me A River and Can’t Stop the Feeling, made the announcement on Thursday shortly after completing his tour. Timberlake explained that he had been suffering from extreme fatigue, nerve pain, and frequent illness, all of which puzzled him until he was officially diagnosed with the tick-borne disease.
“I don’t say this so you feel bad for me,” Timberlake shared, “but to shed light on what I’ve been up against behind the scenes.”
He added that the disease made performing incredibly difficult. Some fans had noticed he seemed low on energy during parts of the tour, but Timberlake said he had been silently pushing through intense nerve pain and exhaustion.
“Living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically,” he said. “When I first got the diagnosis, I was shocked. But at least it helped me understand what I was going through.”
Lyme disease is caused by bacteria transmitted through tick bites, especially in wooded areas across North America and Europe. If not diagnosed early, it can lead to chronic pain, fatigue, and neurological problems.
Timberlake’s openness has been met with an outpouring of support from fans and health advocates, with many praising him for raising awareness about a condition that often goes undetected.
Despite the challenges, Timberlake assured fans that he’s focusing on recovery and remains thankful for the support he has received.
