JUST IN: JAMB FIXES FUTA GRADUATE’S STATUS AFTER ALLEGATIONS OF FAKE ADMISSION
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially cleared up the controversy surrounding a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), who was recently accused of having a fake admission.
In a statement released on Monday, JAMB confirmed that it had reviewed the graduate’s records and rectified his admission status, putting an end to the dispute that had cast doubts on his academic journey.
The graduate, whose name was withheld, found himself in the spotlight after claims surfaced that he was never properly admitted into FUTA, sparking outrage on social media and leaving his future hanging in the balance.
However, after a thorough investigation, JAMB discovered there had been a mix-up in its system, which has now been corrected. The board reassured the public that the graduate is indeed a legitimate alumnus of the university.
JAMB also used the opportunity to stress the importance of verifying admission statuses on its Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) portal to avoid confusion and future embarrassment.
Meanwhile, the graduate and his family have expressed relief and gratitude over the resolution of the issue, saying it restores his reputation and protects his years of hard work at FUTA.
This incident is a reminder of the crucial role accurate records play in Nigeria’s education system — and why students are encouraged to always cross-check their admission details with JAMB to stay on the safe side.
