JNI CONDEMNS KATSINA MOSQUE ATTACK, URGES GOVT TO TACKLE INSECURITY
The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on a mosque in Ungwan Mantau, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, where several worshippers lost their lives during early morning prayers.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Secretary-General of JNI, Prof. Khalid Aliyu, described the attack as senseless and barbaric. He expressed deep shock that innocent worshippers could be targeted in such a brutal manner, stressing that the act was not only inhumane but also an assault on religious freedom.
Prof. Aliyu urged the government to act decisively in addressing the rising wave of insecurity across the country. He lamented that despite several appeals for stronger interventions, little progress has been made in curbing these recurring tragedies.
The JNI further called for greater collaboration among security agencies, religious institutions, and community leaders to develop lasting solutions to the security crisis. Citizens were also encouraged to support security operatives by providing credible intelligence that could help prevent future attacks.
In his message, Prof. Aliyu prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the victims and asked Allah to grant comfort to their grieving families.
The incident has once again raised concerns about the safety of worshippers and the urgent need for effective measures to protect communities from terrorist violence.
