The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested three notorious drug dealers and seized a total of 23,944 illegal substances during coordinated raids across Garki, Fagam, and Maigatari divisions.

Police spokesperson, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Monday, explaining that the operation—conducted on October 18, 2025—was part of an intelligence-led effort to dismantle drug distribution networks operating within and beyond the state.

According to him, the confiscated items included 13,505 Exol tablets, 1,583 D5, 3,572 Tramadol, 565 Diazepam, 2,469 Rubber Solution, 886 wraps and blocks of cannabis (Indian hemp), Sock and Die, Akurkura, 340 Farin Malam, and several other intoxicating substances.

Describing the bust as one of the largest anti-drug operations in Jigawa in recent years, SP Shiisu praised the officers for their professionalism and commitment to eradicating drug abuse, particularly among young people.

“The suspects, who have long been on the police radar, are currently in custody and undergoing investigation. They will be charged to court once preliminary inquiries are completed,” he said.

The Commissioner of Police commended the operatives involved for their “gallant efforts” and reiterated the Command’s zero-tolerance stance against drug trafficking and abuse. He further urged residents to assist security agencies with credible information to help apprehend criminals.

“The Jigawa State Police Command remains resolute in safeguarding the lives and well-being of all citizens through proactive, intelligence-driven operations,” the statement added.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
