JIGAWA, BAUCHI GET $4M SOLAR MINI-GRID INVESTMENT
All On and Energise Africa have invested a combined $4m to develop and deploy solar-powered mini-grids across 19 communities in Jigawa and Bauchi states.
The project, which will be executed by indigenous renewable energy company Maskh Nigeria Limited, is aimed at expanding access to reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity in underserved communities.
All On CEO, Caroline Eboumbou, said the investment was made under the Demand Aggregation for Renewable Energy Technology Programme and is expected to impact about 100,000 people.
The project will provide electricity to households, schools, health facilities, businesses and other public institutions, while supporting local enterprise development and reducing reliance on traditional
energy sources.
Eboumbou said decentralised energy infrastructure could help drive economic and social activity in communities where access to electricity remains limited.
She added that the investment demonstrated All On’s commitment to supporting indigenous energy companies capable of delivering scalable solutions to Nigeria’s energy-access challenges.
Energise Africa CEO, Ray Coyle, said the project would bring clean and reliable electricity to 19 communities while creating lasting social, economic and environmental benefits.
Maskh Nigeria’s Director of Operations, Qaim Mahmood, welcomed the investment and said the project would strengthen the company’s capacity and create employment opportunities.
He expressed appreciation to All On, Energise Africa and the Rural Electrification Agency for their partnership and confidence in the company to deliver the project.
