JAY-Z ACCUSER WITHDRAWS RAPE ALLEGATION IN COURT DECLARATION

A woman who previously accused American rapper Jay-Z of rape has formally withdrawn the allegation, stating in a court declaration that her claims against him were false.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe in court documents, had filed a lawsuit in 2024 alleging that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulted her when she was 13. Both men denied the allegations, and she later dropped the civil lawsuit in February 2025.

In a declaration filed on Thursday, the woman said she had never met or spoken with Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, and that he had never behaved inappropriately toward her. She also withdrew her allegations against Combs.

She said the claims in the original lawsuit were false and that she had not received money from Jay-Z or anyone acting on his behalf for making the new declaration.

The woman further alleged that the lawyers who represented her filed the lawsuit without conducting an independent investigation or obtaining supporting evidence. She said she had responded to an online advertisement seeking people who might have allegations involving Combs before being contacted by a law firm.

Jay-Z had subsequently filed legal action against the woman and her former lawyers. Following the new declaration, the rapper's lawyers dropped the woman as a defendant in the case, while the legal action against her former lawyers continues.

The former lawyer, Tony Buzbee, said he had not seen the new declaration and noted that the woman's latest account was new information to him.
