JAMB SETS DEADLINE FOR CANDIDATES TO CONFIRM EARLIER ADMISSION OFFERS

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has given candidates with outstanding admission offers another opportunity to either accept or reject the admissions on its Central Admissions Processing System.

The directive is aimed at candidates who have received admission offers from tertiary institutions but are yet to indicate whether they are willing to take up the offers.

JAMB urged affected candidates to log into their profiles and take the required action without further delay, stressing that leaving an admission offer unattended could have consequences for the admission process.

The board said candidates can access their admission information through their JAMB e-Facility accounts by selecting the “Admission Status” option and proceeding to the Central Admissions Processing System, commonly known as CAPS.

Where an admission offer is displayed, candidates are expected to select either “Accept Admission” or “Reject Admission”, depending on their decision.

JAMB has also advised candidates to regularly monitor their CAPS profiles instead of assuming that their admission status has remained unchanged.

The latest notice comes as preparations for the 2026/2027 academic session continue, with tertiary institutions processing admissions and candidates waiting to secure places in their preferred programmes.

The CAPS platform allows institutions to recommend qualified candidates for admission while giving applicants the opportunity to personally confirm whether they wish to accept the offers made to them.

JAMB has therefore encouraged candidates to take responsibility for monitoring their admission status and responding promptly whenever an offer appears on their dashboard.

Candidates who fail to check their profiles could miss important updates concerning their admission and may lose the opportunity to respond within the required period.

The board has also continued to introduce measures aimed at making the admission process more transparent and reducing cases where candidates are unaware of the status of their applications.

With the admission exercise ongoing, JAMB advised candidates to rely on their official profiles and verified communication channels for information rather than unverified claims circulating on social media.

The board's latest reminder is particularly important for candidates with older or previously pending admission offers, who are now being given another opportunity to formally indicate whether they intend to accept or reject such offers.

JAMB urged all affected candidates to act promptly and ensure that their admission decisions are properly recorded on the CAPS platform.
