JAMB RESTORES CAPS, URGES SCHOOLS TO SPEED UP 2026 ADMISSIONS
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has restored its Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS, after a temporary disruption.
In a statement on Monday, JAMB confirmed that the platform is now fully operational and urged tertiary institutions to speed up their admission processes to make up for lost time and meet the approved deadlines.
The board also advised candidates who receive admission offers to accept them promptly.
For the 2026/2027 admission exercise, public universities have until October 31, 2026, to complete their processes, while private universities have until November 30. Other tertiary institutions have until December 31, 2026.
JAMB also asked candidates awaiting their examination results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council Senior School Certificate Examination results.
According to the board, the step will ensure that candidates’ credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.
JAMB apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary CAPS disruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience.
The board urged all concerned to take advantage of the restored platform and complete the admission process within the approved timelines.
