JAMB ADJUSTS 2027 UTME REPORTING TIME FOR FIRST BATCH CANDIDATES

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced a change to the reporting time for candidates sitting for the first session of the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. Under the new arrangement, candidates in the first session are expected to arrive at their designated Computer-Based Test centres by 7:30am, giving them additional time to complete the necessary checks before the examination begins.

The adjustment is part of JAMB’s efforts to improve the organisation of the UTME and reduce delays at examination centres. Candidates are expected to take the new arrival time seriously, as late arrival could create difficulties during the verification and biometric processes that must be completed before they are allowed into the examination hall.

The board has consistently stressed the importance of candidates arriving early at their assigned centres, particularly because of the security and identification procedures involved in the computer-based examination. Candidates are required to undergo verification before being admitted, making punctuality an important part of the examination process.

The new reporting arrangement will apply to candidates scheduled for the first session of the 2027 UTME. Candidates are expected to check their examination details carefully and confirm the centre and session assigned to them so they can plan their movement ahead of the examination day and avoid arriving late.

JAMB's adjustment is aimed at ensuring a smoother examination process and giving officials enough time to complete pre-test procedures before candidates begin their papers. The board is expected to release further details and examination guidelines as preparations for the 2027 UTME continue.
