JACKIE CHAN IS ALIVE: DEATH RUMOUR DEBUNKED AFTER AI-GENERATED IMAGE GOES VIRAL
Social media was set abuzz on Tuesday after false rumours claimed that legendary martial artist and actor Jackie Chan had passed away.
The fake news began circulating alongside an AI-generated image showing the 71-year-old actor lying in a hospital bed, accompanied by fabricated “RIP” messages and false death dates.
The hoax quickly went viral, prompting worried fans to search Google using phrases like “Did Jackie Chan die?” and “Jackie Chan death”, which trended globally for hours.
However, credible media outlets including Daily Mail have confirmed that Jackie Chan is alive and in good health.
In fact, the action movie icon has remained active in the entertainment industry this year, making public appearances and working on upcoming film projects such as Karate Kid: Legends and the much-anticipated Rush Hour 4.
Even Grok, an AI chatbot by X (formerly Twitter), dismissed the claim, confirming that the viral post was a complete hoax.
This is not the first time such rumours have surfaced — similar false reports about Chan’s death spread earlier in August, also fueled by AI-edited images.
Fans around the world have since expressed relief upon learning that their beloved star is alive, well, and still kicking — literally and figuratively.
