“IYABO OJO FIRES BACK AT FAKE ARREST RUMOURS: ‘IT SHALL NOT BE WELL WITH YOU’”
Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has strongly denied circulating rumours claiming she was arrested by the Nigerian police. The actress addressed the issue during a TikTok live session after wanted posters with her image went viral online.
Iyabo dismissed the posters as fake and misleading, insisting they were created by people desperate to attract attention and traffic to their platforms.
Calling out those behind the false story, she said:
“To you all rumour mongers that spread fake news about me, it shall not be well with you. Who did they arrest?
Your fake news makes my fans worried and they start calling to check on me. You love to mention my name just to pull traffic and make money.”
She warned that those wishing her harm were only bringing negativity upon themselves, describing herself as a “special being” whose destiny cannot be derailed.
Iyabo’s reaction comes amid heightened tensions with popular online critic VeryDarkMan, who is currently facing legal issues over cyberbullying allegations involving her, actress Tonto Dikeh, and others. She previously accused him of spreading false narratives simply to gain attention.
Part of the ongoing controversy stems from a WhatsApp group created after the tragic death of singer Mohbad. VeryDarkMan suggested the group was operating secretly, but Iyabo refuted this, explaining that its purpose was to advocate for justice. According to her, the group pushed for proper investigations into Mohbad’s death, including the exhumation of his body for autopsy and securing a dignified burial.
She also clarified her role in various legal petitions, stressing that she only acted as a witness, not someone pushing criminal charges.
As the drama continues to unfold, Iyabo Ojo maintains that fake news peddlers will not distract her from seeking truth and justice.
