“I’VE MOVED ON, NOW FOCUSED ON NIGERIA” — OSIMHEN SPEAKS AFTER GALATASARAY’S DEFEAT TO KOCAELISPOR
Turkey: Osimhen Says His Focus Is Now on Nigeria After Galatasaray’s 1–0 Loss to Kocaelispor
Super Eagles striker and Galatasaray forward, Victor Osimhen, has said his full attention is now on Nigeria’s upcoming World Cup playoff clash against Gabon, following his club’s 1–0 defeat to Kocaelispor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.
Galatasaray fell to a narrow loss after Dan Agyei scored the only goal of the match at the Kocaeli Stadium, handing the hosts all three points.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Osimhen made it clear that he had already shifted focus from the disappointing result to international duty with the Super Eagles.
“I have to travel. The game has happened, it has happened,” Osimhen said.
“I have moved on from that. Now I focus on my national team.”
The striker, who remains one of Nigeria’s most influential players, is expected to link up with the national team camp ahead of Thursday’s World Cup playoff against Gabon.
The crucial fixture is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. Nigerian time, as the Super Eagles look to secure an important step toward qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite Galatasaray’s loss, fans remain optimistic that Osimhen will bring his trademark energy and goal-scoring instinct to boost Nigeria’s chances in the decisive encounter.
