Nigerian singer Davido (David Adeleke) has shared reflections on his music career and hinted at what fans can expect in the next phase of his journey.

Speaking on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show with Eddie Kadi, he said he is proud of his global achievements, including performing in major venues worldwide and earning multiple Grammy nominations over the past three years.

Davido explained that he feels fulfilled with what he has accomplished so far and now intends to return to his roots by focusing on more authentic African sounds, rather than tailoring his music to Western influences for international appeal.

He said, “This part of my career, I have performed everywhere, sold out every arena, I have been to three Grammys in the last three years. The music that is coming next is very Davido, it is very African. We have done it so I am not really looking to really do western sounds.”

The singer also highlighted the strong support he receives from South African fans, claiming that a large majority of people in the country are familiar with and appreciate his music.

Over the years, Davido has collaborated with several South African artists and earned multiple certifications in the country’s music industry.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
