Alexander Isak’s time at Newcastle United appears to be over.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Swedish striker has made it clear he will not play for the club again, even if he doesn’t secure a move before the summer transfer window closes.

While Newcastle are reluctant to sell the 25-year-old, they are said to be keeping an eye on the transfer market amid interest from Liverpool.

In a separate transfer twist, four clubs are now in the race to sign Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund. AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, and Newcastle United are all reportedly keen on the Danish striker, according to The TouchlineX via journalist Laurie Whitwell.

This comes after Manchester United completed the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig earlier this summer. Sesko has already revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is his football idol at the club.
