INTERNATIONAL BREWERIES, ZICHIS AGRO TOP GAINERS IN MIXED TRADING
Trading on the Nigerian Exchange Limited ended on a mixed note on Monday, as gains recorded by selected brewing, telecoms and energy stocks offset losses in banking and insurance counters.
A total of 52,199 deals were recorded during the session, with 407.78 million shares traded.
International Breweries Plc emerged as the top gainer, rising by 9.97 per cent to close at ₦18.20 per share from ₦16.55. Zichis Agro Allied Industries Plc also gained 9.97 per cent, closing at ₦18.20 per share.
Aradel Holdings Plc advanced by 5.38 per cent to ₦1,570, while MTN Nigeria Communications Plc rose by 2.45 per cent to ₦832.90.
Other stocks that recorded gains included Ellah Lakes, NSL Tech, Sovereign Trust Insurance, Cutix, Japaul Gold & Ventures, Mutual Benefits Assurance, Veritas Kapital Assurance and Nigerian Exchange Group.
However, selling pressure affected several banking and insurance stocks during the session.
The mixed performance reflected cautious investor sentiment, with market participants continuing to reposition their portfolios amid movements across major sectors of the equities market.
