INEC’S RECOGNITION OF DAVID MARK-LED ADC LEADERSHIP A BOOST FOR DEMOCRACY – NWOSU

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State, Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, has applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for regularising the David Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.

Describing the move as a timely democratic relief, Nwosu said the recognition gives Anambra voters a credible alternative in the upcoming governorship election.

He recalled that in 2003, when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dominated the political scene with impunity, the people of Anambra turned to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as an alternative. However, he noted that after 24 years in power, APGA had grown disconnected from the people.

“But, as the light of the nation, God has remembered Anambra again,” Nwosu said. “INEC has demonstrated patriotic impartiality by regularising ADC’s leadership. This opens the door for opposition politicians to unite and begin a journey of national rescue.”

Nwosu dismissed claims that INEC’s action was a ploy to set up ADC for failure, insisting that all documentation had been properly completed and that the commission acted within its mandate.

According to him, the recognition now gives voters a chance to move away from “old, spoilt platforms” that have taken the masses for granted.

“On November 8, Anambra people will have the opportunity to elect a servant leader and not arrogant opportunists. What INEC has done will compel all political parties to campaign on real issues that matter to the people,” he added.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
