INDIA DECLARES 46-YEAR-OLD NIGERIAN WANTED OVER 3.3KG DRUG SEIZURE
Indian authorities have declared a 46-year-old Nigerian national wanted in connection with the seizure of more than 3.3 kilogrammes of suspected illicit drugs.
The suspect was identified by Indian law-enforcement authorities as part of an investigation into the alleged possession and distribution of the substance.
Authorities said the drugs were recovered during an operation and that investigations subsequently led to the Nigerian national being listed as wanted.
The development has prompted efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the seizure.
Indian security agencies have continued to intensify operations against international drug trafficking networks, particularly those involving the movement of narcotics across borders.
Officials said the investigation would also seek to determine whether the suspect acted alone or was connected to a wider trafficking network.
The case highlights the continued involvement of international law-enforcement agencies in tackling the movement of illicit drugs and identifying individuals suspected of participating in cross-border trafficking.
Nigerian nationals living or travelling abroad who are implicated in criminal investigations are subject to the laws of the countries where alleged offences occur.
Authorities are expected to continue efforts to locate the suspect and bring him before the appropriate legal authorities.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against the Nigerian national have not been established by a court.
Indian authorities have urged anyone with credible information about the suspect’s whereabouts to assist investigators through appropriate channels.
