IMMIGRATION OFFICER’S WIFE ABDUCTED IN LAGOS, KIDNAPPERS DEMAND ₦7M RANSOM
Tension has gripped residents of Badagry, Lagos State, following the abduction of Mrs. Ladi Abel, wife of an officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Seme Command.
The incident occurred on Monday morning along the Badagry–Mile 2 Expressway, when the 45-year-old woman was reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Isaac Elijah, Mrs. Abel had left her home in the Sawmill area of Badagry around 7:00 a.m., heading to the Trade Fair Complex to buy goods before she was intercepted and taken away by the kidnappers.
Elijah revealed that the abductors later contacted her husband, CSI Abel Mada, using her mobile phone to demand a ₦7 million ransom for her release.
“Today (Tuesday), at about 6:00 a.m., one of the kidnappers called again, reducing the ransom to ₦3 million if the husband wants the woman released alive,” Elijah said.
He confirmed that the matter has been reported to the Badagry Police Station and the Area K Zonal Command of the Nigeria Police Force for investigation.
The NIS spokesperson urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could help locate the victim, offering a contact number — 0808 088 3848 — for credible leads.
Meanwhile, security agencies have reportedly intensified efforts to track down the perpetrators and ensure the safe return of Mrs. Abel.
