IMMIGRATION CG NOT UNDER VISA FRAUD INVESTIGATION – EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has debunked reports claiming that the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mrs. Kemi Nandap, is under investigation for alleged visa fraud.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the EFCC described the circulating rumours as false and misleading.
“The Commission wishes to state clearly that the Comptroller-General of Immigration is not being investigated for any visa-related fraud or corruption matter,” the anti-graft agency said.
EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale urged the public to disregard the rumours, warning that such false narratives are intended to tarnish the image of dedicated public officers.
The Nigeria Immigration Service also welcomed the clarification, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and improved service delivery in passport and visa processing.
The development comes after several unverified social media posts suggested that the Immigration boss was facing probe over alleged irregularities in visa issuance at some foreign missions.
