I’M TAKING ENGLISH LESSONS TO SPEAK FLUENTLY — MC OLUOMO
National Union of Road Transport Workers President Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has revealed that he is taking English lessons to improve his communication skills.
He disclosed this on Tuesday while addressing actor Lege Miami and other attendees at a rally supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
Speaking in Yoruba, MC Oluomo acknowledged that he was not fluent in English and said he had decided to work on it.
“Neither of us speaks English fluently, so I am taking classes to improve,” he said, referring to himself and Lege Miami.
He added that frequent international travel had not automatically improved his spoken English.
MC Oluomo also discussed his children’s education and careers, saying some worked in nursing, medicine and engineering in the United States.
According to him, he sometimes asks his children to speak on his behalf when he struggles to express himself in English.
His remarks follow earlier online criticism of his pronunciation during a public address in April 2025.
At the time, he acknowledged his limited formal education but defended his ability to communicate in Yoruba and highlighted his investment in his children’s schooling.
His latest comments indicate that he is now taking practical steps to become more confident speaking English.
