I’M NOT RUDE — I JUST POST MEMES, SAYS SUPER EAGLES STAR VICTOR BONIFACE
Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface, has responded to critics who often misjudge his personality based on his online activity.
Speaking during a recent episode of The Culture League podcast, Boniface said many people wrongly assume he’s rude just because he posts savage or sarcastic memes on social media. According to him, sharing memes is simply a fun way of expressing himself—not a reflection of his real-life attitude.
“People think I’m rude because I post savage memes, but I’m not. I only respond when someone says something offensive,” he said.
Boniface also spoke on the broader issue of how footballers are often misunderstood. He explained that athletes are held to stricter standards compared to other celebrities, which sometimes makes them seem distant or proud.
“The public wants us to act like other entertainers, but there are things they can do that we can’t. When we don’t behave the way they expect, they think we’re arrogant,” he added.
While he admitted that some players may react strongly when provoked, Boniface insisted that he generally keeps a calm and respectful attitude.
“Some of us have a little craziness inside, but you have to provoke it to see it. Otherwise, we’re just calm,” he joked.
Boniface’s candid remarks have sparked support from fans who appreciate his honesty and sense of humor, reminding everyone that social media is just a slice of a person’s personality—not the full picture.
