‘I’M DEPRESSED’ — TINUBU REACTS TO SOLDIERS’ DEATHS
President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the killing of Nigerian Army personnel by ISWAP terrorists.
This was conveyed in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja. The attacks resulted in the abduction and deaths of several soldiers, including Brigadier General Musa Uba.
The President appealed to Nigerians in local communities to support security operatives, emphasizing that their cooperation is vital for effective protection.
“I sympathize with the military over the death of the gallant soldiers and Brigadier General Musa Uba, who paid the ultimate price while on active duty fighting insurgents in Borno State.
“As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I am deeply depressed by the tragic loss of our soldiers and officers on active duty. May God comfort the families of Brigadier General Musa Uba and other fallen heroes.
“Our security forces cannot succeed in protecting us without the cooperation of the people, who must share information that can help keep our communities safe. Your support is crucial in our fight against these security challenges,” the President said.
