I’LL RESIGN AS GOVERNOR IF BOLA TINUBU LOSES — MONDAY OKPEBHOLO
Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has declared that he would step down from office if President Bola Tinubu fails to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.
He made the statement on Friday during an interview on African Independent Television (AIT), highlighting several development projects across the state. Okpebholo expressed confidence that Edo residents would show their appreciation for Tinubu at the polls.
“Edo people have not yet thanked Tinubu. Their gratitude will be reflected in their votes.
“The various projects across the state will speak for Tinubu, and he will win here. Bet me—if he doesn’t, I will resign as governor.
“There is no election here for him. I’m a politician who trained under Chief Aneni. My style of politics is not thuggery but grassroots engagement,” he added.
